I'm glad I got it at 1/5 original cost. It is possible to make progress, but there is a steep learning curve.
I purchased this because I thought it would be fun for a freind and I to play sonic like the good old days. I must agree with many of the other reviewers.
It really makes the game difficult to enjoy because you are always stopping and tilting the camera. Well, I was horribly shocked to find that this has the great graphics and speed of sonic when it is not loading, and the controls are awful to use here.
The camera angle keeps wanting to go straigh above the character when you start to run, making it at times impossible to see where your shooter is that is killing you. Not recommended for young users because it is so tough to hold your attention haing to stop the action all the time to adjust.
Good luck in gaming, but skip this one even if you really like sonic.
To be honest, this had one of the best plots and storylines Sonic The Hedgehog has ever had. Gameplay- Same old same old. I played through the whole story mode, with a minimum of three to five glitches. So, I read all the bad reviews, and hesitantly bought the game. If you like Sonic, I say, no questions asked, buy it. Graphics- Not bad, but far from the Playstation 3's potential.
You sit there four at least five to fifteen seconds, get a two second cut scene, get another five to fifteen second wait, loads the level.
The Sonic Episode was a little cheesy, but the Shadow and Silver make up for that.Oh, and the loading times.
Oh, and Silver's Psychokinesis was far from the normal Sonic gameplay.Storyline- As I said, one of the best.As for the glitches, I got flung to an early death a few times, as well as continually bouncing off the water where I am suppose to die.
I thought "Surely it's not as bad as everyone says." Turns out I was right.
Oh, wait, there was Shadow's unique air time hand combat, and his Chaos form.
Horrid.
They made me sick.
But other then that, there weren't many huge problems.Great game, and for Eight dollars, how can you not buy it.
If you are sort of 'It looks interesting, but I dunno.' Play SA2B, SADX, or something like that, THEN get Shadow The Hedgehog, Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic Heroes, etc.
So far I have played most of the three characters Lots of fun stuff to do and great story. Graphics rock as does the sound and levels. Don't listen to people who hate as they are older fans where as the game is geared to new players of Sonic.
Don't waste your time even reading the reviews. This is just plain and simple a horrible game.
If you fell in love with Sonic on the Sega Genesis, you may want to pickup the Sega compilation for the PS2. This game is a 3D open-area platformer with some RPG elelments thrown in. There are some very frustrating elements to this game.and you'll find yourself asking yourself how you can move onto the next level because you frankly cannot figure out what you need to do.
